STATUS

Eurasia: Kazakhstan and western China south to Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Monotypic.

OVERVIEW

One trapped on 28th August 2016 on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, displayed biometrics pointing to Sykes's Warbler but DNA later proved it to be a Booted Warbler (G. Woodbridge & J. M. Collinson, Scottish Birds 41: 67-71, plates 66-68).

Arrivals date from mid-August to 22nd October, with one mid summer individual trapped on 1st July.
