STATUS

Northern Scandinavia to Pyrenees and Urals (except for Caucasus Mountains). Polytypic.

OVERVIEW

Boreal (Tengmalm’s) Owl has its claws covered in thick downy feathers whereas the Little Owl's is bare.

Migration period is between October and March.
