STATUS

Nearctic. Monotypic.

OVERVIEW

It became a full species in 2011 (Ibis 153: 883-892), but on the adoption of the IOC World Bird List in 2018 reverted back to a subspecies. Two years later it was made a full species (IOC v.10.1).
