STATUS

Palearctic. Monotypic.

OVERVIEW

Since the first two in 1890 there have been to date (2021) four further records between 1988-2008 of this extremely rare plover.

1). 1890 Norfolk North Denes, Great Yarmouth, pair, seen, male shot, 22nd May, now at Castle Museum, Norwich (Acc. No. NWHCM: 1890.39).
