STATUS

Canada to Guatemala. Polytypic.

OVERVIEW

The Dorset individual was assigned to the race P. s. princeps (Ipswich Sparrow) which breeds on Sable Island, Nova Scotia, while the second record was assigned to the race P. s. sandwichensis which occurs on islands off the Alaskan Peninsular and the Aleutian Islands.

One spring record and two autumn records so far.
