STATUS

Atlantic Ocean: Fea’s breeds Cape Verde Islands. Desertas breeds Bugio, Desertas Is..

OVERVIEW

Short-range pelagics have discovered this group of petrels in the south-west reaches.

This group has the incomplete breast band and shows a white patch between its black bill and eyes. Fea’s is slightly smaller in size with a slightly smaller bill compared to Desertas Petrel, but impossible to detect in the field. But the group has a bigger and bulkier body with a much heavier bill than Zino’s Petrel.
