STATUS

South-eastern Europe to China. Monotypic.

OVERVIEW

Although widely kept in confinement on the continent, this individual which had travelled through Poland, Germany and France, before arriving in England, had been accepted onto Category A of some national lists.

Mediterranean populations have been on the increase and wild birds are known to wander far from breeding areas and so it was accepted onto the British List on the basis of all this knowledge.
