0). 1951 Cornwall Marazion Marsh, April and May.

(Harrison, 1953; Penhallurick, 1969; P. Freestone, British Birds 112: 401-406).

History Penhallurick (1969) under ‘Dalmation Pelican’ states that one spent some time at Marazion Marsh during April and May 1951 and that it had escaped from Holland in February.

0) 1951 Kent Sandwich, 11th March; same, Stodmarsh, 15th March.

(Harrison, 1953).

History Harrison (1953 (1): 80) states that an undetermined Pelican species was seen at Sandwich on March 11th 1951 and was also noticed at Stodmarsh on the 15th March. Apparently, it was the same individual that reached Cornwall, and was established that it had escaped from a bird park at Aphen, near Leyden in Holland.
